92 legacy rear wheel noise

Featured Replies

It is a FWD model. Loud scraping noise only making right hand turns around a corner ( not curves), not consistently. Its the rear driver side wheel. I have taken off the tire and the caliper and brake pads are fine. I am thinking it may be the emergency brake area. The emerg brake works ok. I remember this noise in 1994 same wheel, the dealer said it needed grease/ lube. thats all I can remember.

Maybe wheel bearings. On the 2wd simple to replace since its the whole hub (higher price though).

I also had some grinding noise from the wheel which in the end turned out to be the leaking shock.

If you think it is the brake then if you have rear discs (very unlikely) The brake shoe of the handbrake could be worn.

Thanks. I have rear discs and when I have had this noise once before it was handbrake pads. Dont know if it is the same now, sounds the same.
