July 29, 200817 yr This is a side thought from this thread about lowering/improving my rallyx car (1989 Turbo 4WD EA82 wagon): http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=90839 RX springs are 157 lb/in vs my wagon's 146 lb/in. How much difference will I feel? For those of you who have made that change, how big of a difference was it? Like how noticeable? Also, are the RX springs shorter? I'm curious what will happen to my ride height when swapping to the RX springs. Thanks! Richard
July 30, 200817 yr It makes the front of the car a lot more resilient to bumps and just generally stiffer. They usually cause a car to sit a little higher in the front. I put them in my turbowagon a while ago, on stock 4WD struts. I had new RX adjustable KYB GR2s for the rear shocks, with RX springs and the adjustment at max height. I felt that they helped significantly with making a taller car able to handle aggressively if needed.
July 30, 200817 yr I was going to post this old pic last night but apparently I broke the forum after my post
July 30, 200817 yr Do It!!! I put RX front springs on Murphy, the $500 87 T-Wag, and the handling improvement is substantial. I was lucky and found some RX front springs when my air suspension went south. I used to have a normally aspired wagon, and you will definitely feel the difference between the two.
