mountaingoatgruff
for a 92 loyale's am/fm and cassette deck? good guesses will suffice. i think there's some universal color codes for the functions of these wires but i don't know what they'd be. my guesses: red for constant power yellow for ignition switched power black for ground greens&greys for speakers (only 6 wires there, thought there'd be 4 speakers though...) what are blue & white? which one for lights? anyone know? i know its a dusty old tape player but i'm fiending for some savage nation!! i'm trying to put it in my 84 hatch and the car's radio harness has been chopped. i'd like to know which of those wires are which too if anyone's figured that out. presslab
I downloaded this from somewhere a while back... The colors look different but I'd bet the connector pinout is the same, so just match that up to the one in this diagram.

pixO
I'm still new here, but I thought I'd help out a fellow USMB'r. I have a Chilton's for my 93 Loyale but I bought a "repair cd" off ebay that has all kinds of excellent info. Here's another wire diagram for your stereo: http://www.pixogen.net/usmb/images/Subaru-Loyale-Radio-Wiring.gif (I wasn't going to resize it, so just click the link)
GeneralDisorder
Since none of the aftermarket manual's seem to match those deck's, I made a cheat sheet for them when I put one in last. I have a few for extra rigs.... which I always seem to aquire with no stereo and the wires cut back to where there's .05mm left poking out from behind the nether regions of the dash Blue - Switched 12v Red - Constant 12v Black - Radio Ground Yellow - Illumination Ground Orange - Illumination 12v (dash dimmer) Grey - Right Front Pos. Grey/Red - Right Rear Pos. Grey/Black - Right Neg. Green - Left Front Pos. Green/Red - Left Rear Pos. Green/Black - Left Neg. White - Power Antenna GD
presslab
Man I know the cut wires, someone stole my stereo a couple years back. I just replaced the harness plugs with a universal "ISO" type since I had already rewired to isolate the speakers. The wiring diagram I posted is for the car side colors, I think it's pretty common that the things that plug into the car harness can have different colors. If you look at the connector pinout below the "AM/FM radio" and flip it over, it should match your radio pinout.
