September 20, 200817 yr Hi all...just a quick question maybe someone could answer i couldnt find and answer anywere...my 02' WRX has a little valve on thefuel return line by the fuel filter and its called the fuel damper valve...just wondering what is this valve supposed to do?...i know its not only on the turbo models.....thanks for any insight...
September 21, 200817 yr Sounds like it maybe a "rollover valve" Checks the flow of fuel in the event of a rollover:Flame: Edited September 21, 200817 yr by screwbaru2
September 22, 200817 yr it is either the roll over check valve, or the fuel return valve. See, on most cars, there is a fuel supply line, and a fuel return line. It allows pressure equalization, part of the emissions and stuff crap...it can vent unburned pressure gas back to the tank safely.
September 22, 200817 yr Author ah.......u know i asked one of the master techs at work today and he said it does exactly how it sounds....it dampens the sound of the fuel because the fuel lines run through the passanger compartment...i would have never thought of that...lol
September 22, 200817 yr My '93 Loyale came with 3 of them. One in each fuel line before and after the throttle body, and one back by the fuel pump. I can honestly say I don't hear any fuel flowing.
