My 98 forester's front seats are in bad shape, but I have found 2 front seats from a 96 legacy outback.

Are they direct swap?

They bolt in.

 

The seat heaters might be different electrical plugs if that even applies to your car. (BTW adding the option to the car is a pita)

 

The seat belt should be a bolt in swap too, you might have to swap the end.
