Help! My brat is dead on the side of the road.

My 85 GL did the same thing. What happened was the plug of the coil wire on the distributor side had slid into the boot. the spark was arcing the gap and after a while the boot slide far enough so that the plug couldn't arc anymore. i re-adjusted the plug, shoved it back in, and it drove it home.

I had a fuseable go corrode away earlier this month, I noticed a problem when i would sit at idle at a stop light and the idle would steadily increase. When I checked it it had an idle at 4500 rpm :o, I stripped the wire and reconnected it to get me home and stole one from another soob.
