pamike Posted December 3, 2008 Share Posted December 3, 2008 a friend of mine knows somone with a subaru that needs some help. he said the car will drive fine but reverse won't work. he said it did work after shifting between park and reverse for a little while. he said the fluid was full.my friend said he thinks it's a early 90's legacy any ideas. nipper Posted December 3, 2008 Share Posted December 3, 2008 There are not many things that go wrong on an auto tranny that can be easily fixed. Loosing a gear is impending doom. You can try chainging the fluid, a can of tranny fix, but usually no reverse means you need a tranny. pamike Posted December 3, 2008 Author Share Posted December 3, 2008 thats what i told him. but i wanted to make sure their wasn't somthing that goes bad and could be replaced. it's probably far cheaper to find a good used one anyways. thanks for the help.
