December 10, 200817 yr My Brat has the SPFI conversion and all of a sudden started skipping at low rpms. It was literally fine one day and then the next day I started it and it was skipping horribly at low rpms. When I rev it it skips like dadadadadadada and then smooths right out and runs fine....until the revs get low again. I have checked a few things that I could think about but I haven't been able to fix it! So any ideas? Thanks!
December 10, 200817 yr Author Bad fuel pump? It seems to be getting enough fuel its more electrical. But maybe? I will recheck.
December 10, 200817 yr I dont know about the sfpi swap, but in the ej swap you end up with a fuel pump relay and one problem people have is not enough ground wires on the ej harness, and the fuel pump wont run. Maybe a bad ground relating to the fuel pump. Good luck. Daniel

December 10, 200817 yr Author Ok so the fuel pump is not the culprit. The exhaust smells like a lot of unburned gas. What would this be?

I'm gonna pull the plugs and see what they look like. The wires don't appear to be too bad. They are NGK and are in good physical condition. and I just had the Dist. cap off a little while ago and it didn't appear bad. But I will check again. Thanks again!!
December 10, 200817 yr Author Ok big thanks to crockettbrat! I should have checked thoroughly to begin with but it was the plugs!!! I pulled them cleaned them and regapped them and no more skipping! I just didn't think it could be that simple because it was fine one day and skipping the next. But thank you for your help!
