I know Loyales come in a FWD form, but for the rest, are they AWD or D/R or both or what?

4WD. Awd has better driveability. So that you can turn easliy on the road and you don't notice it. When you are in 4WD you will notice driveline bind.

yep, PT4WD - as in it's FWD when it's not engaged and it's "locked" 4WD when it's engaged. meaning, do not drive on pavement or hard surfaces with it in 4WD, it's the real deal.
