I would look on ebay I believe I have seen some KYB replacements that fit the Gen 1 brats. Not positive though but worth searching for

thanks, forgot to mention i'm in new zealand but i'll look up kyb

The rear shocks were easy to get, but I'm still looking for the front struts. If you find some, please let me know!!

Remember, you can use ANY strut assembly from a Subaru 77-79 2wd or 4wd. The only difference is the height adjustment, so that drives a different and longer cartridge for the 4WDs.

If you use a 2WD strut assembly, you lose the height adjustment and the front is just normal height. (No biggy) The front strut cartridges are easier to find for the 2WDs.

Got shocks for the rear, which has sorted the ride a lot.

Think they're from a corolla of similar vintage.

The oe shocks aren't made anymore, but the important things to know are the mounts:

Bottom: 16mm eye (actually around 25mm with 16mm bushes)

Top: 10mm stud

and the length:

Compressed - 345mm max

Extended - 405mm min
