1999 Impreza heater resistor

Featured Replies

I'm looking at a 1999 Subaru Impreza five speed on Craigslist - seems to be in good running order. It isn't pretty but apparently it runs and drives nice. New clutch. I won't be going to see it until Sunday but I was told by the seller that the heat only works on high, something about a resistor under the glovebox. How simple of a fix is this - and does anyone here have one I could buy

really easy to fix. get a used part for this, they don't fail often enough to warrant buying a new one. $25 or less part - $5 at a pull it yourself place or from someone on here probably.

if you can...hmmm...flush a toilet, you can replace this.

Sounds easy enough. Anyone on here have one I can buy before I start scanning junkyards? Local Subaru dealer wants to take $60 from me for one. Screw that!

post a thread in the Parts Wanted Forum, someone probably will get you set up.

they're located down by the passengers side foot well area, in close proximity/attached with the blower motor. usually just a couple screws to get to it after removing the plastic cover/trim.

I have a 97 Legacy that I'm dis-assembling if it has that part.
