Nope. That's way newer than what you're looking for. A regular old 1st gen Legacy -- EJ22, not 4wd dual range (might be all wheel drive, but for that price, probably not even that).

 

You want a wagon from '81 to '84, or a hatch from '81 to '89 I think. Or a brat.

NOpe ..that should be an EJ22 and from the way it is sitting it could be a FWD model

Even if it was "4WD" it would actually be AWD ..an no dual range. not even selectable

That's a DL so even if it is 4WD 5 spd, it will be a push button single range. It does have a 1.8 motor but it's an EA82 and will not fit into your Brat

Appears to be a front drive DL. Automatics and manuals all can have issues. Either way it would still be an EA82.

As for an EA81 motor you need to find one out of any Gen 2 style car. 81-89 and same for the 5 spd dual range. As long as its a 4WD GL 5 spd

It also has to be a GEN 2 body style, for instance, the same style as my Brat. And you'll be able to tell a GL because it says GL on the back, well actually, Subaru GL. If you find one of those it should have a EA81 motor and a 4 spd dual range! Good luck!

The GL model name was carried over on the EA82 bodies-

For a wagon or sedan, it'll have to be an 81-84, if it's a sedan it'll be 2wd though.

For a Hatch or Brat, 81-89 usually does it. Wagons, RXs, and sedans 85 and later are EA82 cars. The EA81 bodied cars can be a DL or GL, DL might have an EA71 1.6l or an EA81 1.8l, but will be 2wd or at most single range 4x4. The GL will most likely have the EA81 1.8, and can be 2wd or dual range 4x4.
