swilde20
has anybody tried to buy one of those motors from japan? I bought a 97 gt that the guy put a nice 2.2 in it but i thought i would put that in another car and go back to the original 2.5 but i find they all came from automatic cars and i have a 5 speed. So i was wondering if there is a way to make it work or if i would have to get a different intake. So if i could get your input that would be great. idosubaru
there's really no need to buy a JDM engine, just find a good engine from the US to drop in. someone on here might even have one...with new head gaskets for sale...(like i do, PM me if you want it). /end shameless sales pitch/ that would be better than an unknown EJ25 from japan. but yeah it doesn't need to come from a manual trans car. subaru360
not sure i understand subaru360's comment. manual and automatic engines both have EGR on EJ25's? You are right, I misread the OP. I deleted my post in case this comes up in a search in the future.
