aspenleaf
I have a 1991 Loyale 1.8, and it appears one of the valves is stuck. The car began running as if one cylinder was missing, and one of the plugs was burning hot. I can see the valve sticking out if I shine a light into the combustion chamber. It doesn't move if you push on it, so I don't think the spring is broken. Is there an easy and inexpensive way to free the valve up? Money is an issue, and I don't have a garage in which I can work, and we're in the middle of a cold and windy winter. Are there any additives to the oil that might work? GeneralDisorder
Does the valve close if you rotate the engine over? Otherwise, no - there is no additive that is going to fix that. It could be a stuck lifter or a more severe mechanical problem. You'll have to pull the cam case to inspect it. GD
