February 17, 200917 yr I don't think it can be done. If you could, they wouldn't last because the gas leaked out of them in the first place. You would have to reseal them somehow before recharging them. Would probably be father ahead going to advanced auto and buying replacements. I think they came with a lifetime warrenty.

Oh, I already have brand new ones. Just wondering what I should do with the old ones. Into the scrap metal pile?
February 18, 200917 yr When the struts go bad you can just bend them outward a bit when raised up. Just grab it near where the shaft slides into the strut and bend it. The friction will keep the hatch from falling down.
