March 25, 200917 yr Author that sounds like a pretty good idea actually an it definately couldnt do any harm i guess!! dunno why i didnt think to do that before pulling it apart! thanks again for all your help its awesome!
March 25, 200917 yr Get it timed correctly and see what happens. Then go from there. Fortunately you don't have to split the block (OHC and all, ya' know!)
March 25, 200917 yr If you didn't replace the PCV valve with a new one I suggest you try that to see if that will do away with the smoke problem.
March 26, 200917 yr Author ok heres the latest update... Replaced the timing belt correctly and started and ran fine but still smoked. Replaced PCV filter and used motor flush additive in oil and changed the oil. Then heres the confusing part... re-did the compression test an got some different results... Dry Wet Cyl1 - 180 - Cyl2 - 80 120 Cyl3 - 180 - Cyl4 - 45 65 This now would lead me to look at the rings as the problem... but is it weird to have two go in such a short period of time?? am i even on the right track?? Thanks again for all the help guys. Matt
