reduce intake manifold heat soak.

I was wondering if there is an engine model that comes stock with a Plastic intake. or should I use manifold spacers for the money. I'm not looking to spend 1,600+US on an aftermarket intake manifold. The intake is just so very hot to the touch. If i use spacers, I could bore out the holes and insert milled plastic composite plastic tubes so the heat won't come through the bolts that bad.

I am new to subarus... I used to own a turbo cavalier, and turbo sunfire. I bought my 92 legacy winter beater for 1100 canadian. it was a great deal.

I want to boost and upgrade this car aswell now.

ive actually got the gaskets your talking about on my WRX..I believe they are Hondata brand...http://cgi.ebay.ca/HONDATA-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-GASKET-SUBARU-IMPREZA-WRX-EJ20_W0QQitemZ170284548292QQcmdZViewItem ...I have no idea how much they give you in terms of HP gains but they seemed to do more good for the engine than the stock ones...
