Need Some Help

Featured Replies

I just put a used 2.5 in an Outback, I need some help Adjusting hydraulic lifters. Any Ideas

Thanks

Did you change the clearance?

As they sit they will bleed down and it take a while for them to pump back up.

Give it time, good 5-30 oil will help.

Ar e yo sure they are hydraulic? What year motor did you put in the car? If they are hydraulic , then there is no adjustment for them. Just let the car run and they will self adjust and the noise should go away.

i think the 96's had hydraulic valve lash adjusters. after sitting for awhile they can be very noise. let them run awhile and change oil regularly. hydraulic valve lash adjusters are very nice as you never have to (nor can you) adjust the valves. BUT - the downside is they don't do well with poor maintenance. don't change your oil often and they will give problems.
