June 12, 200916 yr Hi all, 84 GL Hatch, I just switched from ND disty to Hitachi and want to know which terminals on the Hitachi ignition module go to which sides of the coil. The reman unit I got is unmarked and I have to make the harness. GD? Ian
June 12, 200916 yr Hi This is Jerry, the yellow wires go together for the ground side of the coil and the blake with the white stripe go on the hot side of the coil. Have good day Thanks Jerry
June 12, 200916 yr Author Thanks Jerry, I got that much but it's the disty terminals that are unmarked and since I dont have the wiring harness I'm not sure how to connect to the disty side. Ian
June 12, 200916 yr Author Here's a pic from GD, but the wires are too dirty to tell. The left disty of course is the Hitachi. Ian
June 12, 200916 yr Author OK, never mind. These guys were very helpful and answered the question. http://www.philbingroup.com/catalog.htm In the above pic the right most terminal is for the positive side of the coil (black with white stripe). Ian
June 12, 200916 yr Yep - that's correct. Just got home from work and checked on my Hatch. How's your hatch comming? GD
June 13, 200916 yr Author Hey Rick, The hatch started for the first time in a year and a half. It's back on gasoline and just got a coat of OD. How ya been? What's new? Still in Ptown? Ian

Ian Livin the dream ya know. I work on industrial machinery - working on the millwright skills that I always valued your assitance with. Still in Portland yeah. Got a house and a lawn now so that's pretty cool. I got an '83 hatch that's going to go BIG as soon as I get settled in the house and setup my metal working area. Need to get a bigger welder - I have a sweet compressor and bandsaw setup so far. Doing research and looking for deals on a Miller. Also thinking of building my own TIG setup. If you are ever up this way hit me up on here. Still have the wagon - keeping it as a backup and loaner wheeling rig. GD
June 13, 200916 yr Author Nice, sounds good, I learned alot as a millwright. Good to hear you're still rocking the Subaru's. I just can't bring myself to get rid of the hatch. Are there any soob shows up there this year? I need a re-break in trip for this old girl. Ian
June 13, 200916 yr The West Coast Subaru Show is every year around August. There will be threads about it all over this forum soon I'm sure. GD
