EA 82 Turbo to regular Fuel injected engine

Featured Replies

I have a 1988 GL-10 that was orginally a turbo car,I put a regular SPFI engine in itI have the wire harness and ECU from that engineThe old wire harness that is in the car just does not match up to the turbo harness,Will I have to pull the old turbo harness and install the SPFI harness and ECU?If so How is it routed?and the best way of Pulling the old harness and installing the right harness for this engine?Thank You Very Much in advance!

Was the turbo SPFI or MPFI? If it was SPFI, it should be possible to use the same turbo harness along with some parts off the turbo engine -- just swap the long block and forget the up pipe and turbo -- it will just think it has zero boost all the time now. If the turbo was MPFI though (the EA82 turbo's were MPFI, right???), the new engine won't have the right heads though....

All the turbos are MPFI, unless it's a poor aftermarket conversion. You need the SPFI harness and computer.
