loud injectors?

Featured Replies

I don't know why I've taken this long to ask this but I noticed whenever on the throttle.. can be light or hard I get this sound.. the best I can describe it is a chain on a sprocket sound.

I was going to buy fuel injector cleaner on Saturday but for some reason I decided not to at the time.

I just did a sound file under the hood however the engine is way too loud for me to pick out the sound in question.

I can see if I can get get it later tonight with all the windows open.

the car is a 95 Legacy L wagon with 203K miles.

Does it sound like a ticking at all like really loud fuel injectors as you described? Im thinking from the info you provided that your HLA's are loosing prime...Mine started doing this on my 96 Legacy not to long ago and coincidentally i have 203,000 on my legacy as well..

you only really hear it under any load I will try to get a sound clip this morning

Do you know what detonation or knock sounds like? That would occur only under load and would have the same pulse timing as injectors. Is the check engine light on? Could be a failed knock sensor.

I know what both sounds like and no my check engine light is not on.. I replaced the knock sensor like 3 months ago since it looked like some rodent made a nest in that area. And when i say under load I'm only talking about anyplace between 1% throttle to 100% I wonder are the HLA tend to need adjusting around this mileage?
