Price Of 4:11 Diff

Featured Replies

I have a 4:11 Diff I pulled out of my 92 Lego parts car along with the driveline and 5spd tranny.

How much is a reasonable asking price to sell it on CR or other. I hear that 4:11 are kind of a "hot" item.

Also what could one get for the 5spd tranny I figure the driveline will just be a throw in or like 30 bucks or so out right. Thanks again

not sure how hot they can be if they are probably one of the most common ratios out there.

last one i bought i think i spent $30-40 with a set of axles. U pull it want's something like $100, over priced in my opinion.

old lego trannys about $100 range. assuming it's not a POS with decent miles.

drive line your about right.

Your probly right, must be the muscle car in me talking. 4:11 were pretty "big" and I have read several threads about 4:11 suby diffs being installed in other suby rigs. So I guess I know where to go from here. Thanks again.

Did it come out of an original 92 Legacy? The 92-94 Legacies had a 3.9 final drive ratio from the factory. The 90-91's had the 4.11.

my 94 legacy would like to argue with you on that fact because it has 4.11s.

it's wasn't until the second gen legacys that i have seen 3.90s

honestly i have never seen a first gen legacy with anything other then 4.11s auto or manual.

There are 1st gen legacys with 3.9s, Ive seen them...

Automatics? Yes. Manuals? Not likely, unless swapped in by someone.

datsun peoples like em for their z's

4.11's and an inline 6, pretty quick even with a stock motor

boy i'm going to have to poke my head under all the legacys the next time i'm at the junk yard. i might believe autos because i don't own/mess with those but every 5 speed legacy i have owned has been 4.11s

Sorry, should have clarified.

All 90-91 non turbo (incl. AT & MT) have 4.111 final drive ratio

All 91-94 turbo (incl. AT & MT) have 3.90 final drive ratio

All 92-94 non turbo AT's have 3.90 final drive ratio

All 92-94 non turbo MT's have 4.111 final drive ratio

ok i'll agree with that. :)

Actually, FHI almost randomly applied a 3.900 or 4.111 front/rear diff on various years of legacies and Imprezas. Only way to tell is from the transmission number found on the bell housing of the transmission or the engine mounted VIN# plate. Check that number against the transmission charts posted in the USRM to find which ratio is the correct one.

Going back to the original poster's question, the local Washingtion PAP yards (Tacoma, Lynnwood and Smokey Point) all charge $25 plus tax for any rear diff.

We get $250 (without argument or complaints from the customers) for them all day long here at Aaron's.

So somewhere in the middle. Start high. If it doesn't sell, lower the price.
