Knock sensor location

Featured Replies

MY 96 impreza 2.2 auto has a knock sensor code. Where is it located on the engine ? Bought new one from the dealer...The other thing is when I select Reverse or Drive 3,2 etc the trans hums/whines, which changes with the rpm changes...just like the older cars with bad alt. But no whine when in Park or Neutral , any ideas. I was told the torque convertor is on it's way out.. Who has the best reference books on these cars... Because it sounds like I am going to need lots of help....

Thanks in advance

Look at the lower left of this screen right now, scroll to the bottom. You'll see no less than %100 matching threads in all 5 cases of "similar threads"!:banana:

Familiarize yourself with the search function as there's a great thread detailing everything about this - why they fail, your options for replacement, pictures, and exactly how to do it.
