posting for a friend Airbag light

Featured Replies

I have a friend at work who has a 99 Subaru forester and he says his AirBag light will sometimes come on then go off (did not say how often) However he said he changed his brake rotors last week and the light has yet to come on again.. I was thinking a loose connection? but at least looking at my Legacy the wires for the Airbag are tucked pretty out of the way compared to other wires on the car...

Need to read the code. Not sure about memory mode, but I would assume the computer has a read memory mode like other systems (ECU for instance).

I'm doubtful the brakes/SRS systems are related on this vehicle so I think it's coincidence. Being that it was sporadic to begin with it leaves things pretty wide open.

I'm doubtful on the loose connection. SRS connectors are amazingly complicated!! Subaru left no stone unturned for making these things extraordinarily convoluted and difficult to disconnect.

Without the codes I would think it's a shot in the dark unless there's some recall or TSB i don't know about.
