I could be wrong but that's my guess , that you got 2nd Gen. They were just on eBay not long ago if that helps. :-\ Hey , that's not Brownsville up here near NYC is it? SUBARU3 Posted June 27, 2011 Share Posted June 27, 2011 The Gen 1 cars 77-79 are often lumped in with the BRATs in databases. The BRATs have "adjustable" struts. The cars do not. However, the complete car strut will fit the BRATs just fine, if you want to go that way. The difference is a VERY small height difference. So: All "complete" struts interchange on all gen one BRATs AND cars. The original Gen one car strut insert is different from the original Gen one BRAT insert. (The whole strut is different). Often times I have found Gen one car struts on BRATs. So in that case, the specified strut insert for the BRAT will not fit. If you see adjustment bolts on the outside side of the strut....it's a BRAT strut. Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
