tundrabrat
I've seen the factory airfilter fitted to a weber on lifted vehicles (2" plus) but never on a factory hight vehicle... has anyone done this before? If so is there a "how too" out there. The filter box needs to sit 1/2 to 3/4' lower... I have an idea of how to do this but it will require additonal cutting, welding and trimming a notch out of the air filter itself as the filter box sit on top of the larger carb body and electic choke. All doable but wanted to see if someone has done this before. Pics below give you an idea of where it's hitting and how off it is (see bracket vs. bolt hole on the right). As always, thanks for your help. Edited April 20, 2015 by tundrabrat
Leeroy
There are a few threads on this but the following is a good start (page 2 in particular): http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/119865-weber-air-cleaner-alternative/
tundrabrat
Thanks, I'll be using some of these ideas. Looks like if I'm not going with a lift or a mallet I may need to get a little creative.
spicypeanut
I know mine is an EA71 but the same principle could be used with the EA82 air cleaner. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/142864-1978-subaru-brat-from-death-to-life-and-everything-in-between/?p=1279470
