Esteban32696
I am looking at a '92 Legacy AWD wagon with a 2.2. Valve train was very noisy but had good oil pressure. Owner had mechanic to replace oil pump, timing belt, seals, etc. STILL noisy. Clatter, not knocking. What might be the maximum cost,[ if only in the valve train], to have a shop repair this? I have a chance to buy this car at a reasonable price.

P K
Still could be oil pump. The HLAs might still have some air, but they should quiet after I think 2-3 hours (is that what the manual says?). Anyway, Subes like THIN oil , not 20-50 stuff. After Seafoam, Rislone, trans fluid, etc cleaning -then maybe 10-30? my $0.02 r/PK
