i'm trying to figure out how to determine if a 1996 Legacy is a wagon or a coupe based on the VIN. anyone with a FSM help me out?

i've found 98-99 and 80-89 and other years...but can't find info on the 96 models.

Go to www.carfax.com. Enter your VIN. Although it won't give you the vehicle history without you paying the 20 bucks, it will give you a few lines of basic info about the vehicle ... year, make, model, and body style.
