erikvr
I am debating whether to purchace a Loyale or an early 90s Legacy (2.2).....which is more realiable, which is easier for me to work on? I am no car repair pro but can slug my way through the 12/30/60 maintenance procedures.
coloradosubarules
90-94 legacy. More room, they look nicer....and I own one.
Setright
As above, plus the EJ22 is very strong and reliable. Not only does it take a thrashing, but it makes sounds that suggests it likes be thrashed!
NoahDL88
The loyale will be cheaper, the fact that you're in washington will mean that parts are available. i have both and can say that the loyale is more fun when the weather is bad, or i feel like driving in mud, but as a daily driver the legacy is much better. Snowman
The legacy was voted the easiest car to work on by some mechanics' association in 1991. The loyale is also a piece of cake to work on, but it's more prone to oil leaks and such. For practicality, I'd go with the legacy because the EJ22 is bulletproof and its a bigger and more comfortable vehicle. However, older soobs tend to be more fun for some reason.
