Also is there anybody that can run a full vin check on it for me. idosubaru Posted February 10, 2005 Share Posted February 10, 2005 great motor. the timing belts will need to be changed or at least checked if you don't know the condition. fortunately these motors pre-97 i believe are non-intereference 2.2 liters so if the belt breaks you shouldn't sustain any engine damage. slap a new belt on and drive along. You will love the new models esp since you come from the gl/loyale world. They do not leak as bad as the old ones did. Timing belts are way easier to repalce, only one, and while in there tighten the oil pump and new seal and replace cam and crank seals and you are good to go with a leak free subaru. JT95 Posted February 11, 2005 Share Posted February 11, 2005 I have a 95 Legacy. Been driving it about 5 months now. Love it. Great car. Super engine. I have 160,000 miles on it and it runs smooth. Gas mileage is disappointing for a 4 cylinder, but then again it is AWD. You'll love the car. Several people here brag about the 2.2 being such a great engine.
