Wll I gave the Outback struts on my '95 Legacy a true-test yesterday.

Recommended Posts

Loaded it up with 1,400 lbs of rock and plants and drove it eight miles to home. Worked fine, a little woozy on steering. My bogus CEL came on during the trip (it's been off for about three months) either doesn't like pointing uphill on level ground ... or was just p.o.ed at me for loading it up so bad.

Why didn't you make two trips, it was only 8 miles???

On the other hand...that's terribly funny that a poor old Subie could do such a load

I find my Forester steers/handles funny when I put only #200-#300 in back.

They are workhorses!

Put them to work!

You beat me by 400 mtsmiths.

I loaded my Legacy (regular struts) with 1000 pounds of sheep manure (in plastic bags that were not leaking... luckily... ) two years ago and apart from the fact that the rear was a little low, everything else handled fine.

Now that's a sheepload, Frag. Yesterday, I carried twenty 16"x16"x2" concrete paver blocks in an Impreza wagon. The suspension never bottomed out, but I guess doing it regularly wouldn't be good for the bearings.
