Run, even with a price below wholesale?

Check with a dealer or auto auction in your area. They may be able to get you a wholesale deal, and pass PART of the savings along to you, especially if you're willing to pick the car up on the other end at another auction or dealer. They may be able to put you in touch with a cheapo hauler without a "cut" too. DAS is only one of HUNDREDS of car haulers. They will do a good job, but it ain't rocket science. Also do a google search for 'auto transport' or 'car haulers'. Prices vary greatly. I have shipped cars and motorcycles half way across the country for $500 a couple of times. Covered transport costs a lot extra, as does door-to-door delivery. Your car has been wet before. Contrary to popular belief it really IS just a machine. It doesn't care.

I'm curious how expensive or complicated the fix(es) might be. The codes are P0340: CAM POSITION SENSOR, P0420 CATALYTIC CONVERTER BELOW EFFECIENCY THRESHOLD, and P0244 WASTEGATE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE MALFUNCTION, (HIGH INPUT) whatever THAT means. I figure the cam position sensor and cat need to be replaced, but I have no idea what that last one might mean. I do KNOW that the car is quite docile until you kick it. Then it runs like a scalded dog. I was not able to drive it very far. It is a "repo" car. It has a couple of minor dings and scratches. The bank that owns it will NOT fix anything. It's an as-is deal for around $10K. It has WIDE 19" wheels and 245(I think)-35-19 tires. Rides a bit like a truck, but handles like nothing I ever drove before.

mtsmiths is right about the control of the LATE model Subaru automatics. They just can't be beaten for getting around in the snow. No way I'd drive 60 in a foot of snow in ANY vehicle though.

Cool nuthin', Whitefish is downright cold from October till March. Neat cop car mt. Looks like the one I just sold, but it didn't go to a drug dealer. Of course mine didn't have any decals on it.
