  1. I TOO HAVE A JUSTY, TWO ACTUALLY AND KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET PARTS. I HAVE FOUND WHAT YOU MIGHT BE LOOKING FOR THOUGH. CHECK THIS OUT: http://catalog.overnightautoparts.com/?year=1989&make=SU&imageField.x=71&imageField.y=15 HOPE THAT HELPS.
  2. yes, i concur with 777, legacy's are tough to beat. also i'm pretty sure that the ecvt models only came in the justy, they were flawed by design. i believe that the brand new justys have an updated version of the ecvt. either way it is not what you want. i too would learn more toward manual transmission. the little lady has a auto and it runs great at 179k. her father is a rural delivery mail carrier and has two right hand drives and i know the one has over 320k.
  3. for what it is worth i had been told that it actually works just opposite of what you would think. that a rich engine runs cool and a lean engine runs hot.
  4. also here are the 14 inch conversions, but i would think that most would rub. If you want to run 14-inch wheels: For 35-series tires, you will want a tire that is 282 mm wide For 40-series tires, you will want a tire that is 246 mm wide For 45-series tires, you will want a tire that is 219 mm wide For 50-series tires, you will want a tire that is 197 mm wide For 55-series tires, you will want a tire that is 179 mm wide For 60-series tires, you will want a tire that is 164 mm wide For 65-series tires, you will want a tire that is 152 mm wide For 70-series tires, you will want a tire that is 141 mm wide For 75-series tires, you will want a tire that is 131 mm wide For 80-series tires, you will want a tire that is 123 mm wide For 85-series tires, you will want a tire that is 116 mm wide For 90-series tires, you will want a tire that is 110 mm wide
  5. ok this is what i found. i was incorrect as the first number being the circumference it is the width. the rest was correct. i can not stress enough how important that have four matching tires is important on a 4wd. (dependant upon front and rear gear ratios) for 13s that will be the same size (circumference) this is what i found If you want to run 13-inch wheels: For 35-series tires, you will want a tire that is 318 mm wide For 40-series tires, you will want a tire that is 278 mm wide For 45-series tires, you will want a tire that is 247 mm wide For 50-series tires, you will want a tire that is 223 mm wide For 55-series tires, you will want a tire that is 202 mm wide For 60-series tires, you will want a tire that is 185 mm wide For 65-series tires, you will want a tire that is 171 mm wide For 70-series tires, you will want a tire that is 159 mm wide For 75-series tires, you will want a tire that is 148 mm wide For 80-series tires, you will want a tire that is 139 mm wide For 85-series tires, you will want a tire that is 131 mm wide For 90-series tires, you will want a tire that is 124 mm wide hope this helps Mark
  6. if you currently have a 155/80/12 than a 155/80/13 should fit exactly the same. this is how i understand the numbers system. the first number is the total circumference of the tire, the second is the percentage of the first giving you profile, the third is the diameter of the rim. if this is true than a 155/80/13 and a 155/8012 should be the exact same size.
  7. my '90 ecvt has 155/80/13 and my '89 rs has 145/80/13. i would think that all 89 and newer (body style change) should be able to sport 13s as long as the profile is not too large.
  8. couple of questions, what color is your car (my '89 rs 4wd 5spd is black, and my '90 2wd ecvt is a bluish tourquois) and the mirror covers are painted the body color. both cars have the spring loaded type that will fold flat toward the door windows . if you would like i know of a couple of justys sitting in the local bone yards and i could look for one for you, but haven't noticed if they too have the passenger side ones. let me know.
  9. hello  i am currently changing motors in an '89 rs justy. it is pretty obvious that changing the oil filter will be no easy task and i was wondering if anyone has installed a remote filter on a soob. the little lady has a '93 legacy that a snap but this justy is another beast entirely. any suggestions/links/info will be greatly appreciated. mark:drunk:
  10. you somewhat confused me because you started out with a window comment and then switched to mirrors. i have two justy's and both have a passenger side mirror. legally they don't have to have them (trucks do) but cars are just drivers sde and rear view. i would check bone yards if i were you. good luck:banana:
  11. Can anyone suggest any online sites for subaru sheetmetal? I have two justys (89 rs 4wd 5spd and a 90 ecvt parts car) both of which the fenders are pretty bad. I could putty them but have just purchased an engine and would like it to be alittle more 'solid' for the long haul. I have found several sites that offer them at about $60 a side before shipping. All imput is appreciated, Thank You Mark
  12. i have been looking for an engine to replace the one in my 1989 justy rs (1.2, carborated, on demand 4wd). Can anyone tell me what will interchange. Parts books destinguish between years and the engine that i have found the seller doesn't know what year or model the engine came from. cast into the side of the block are the #'s 1189 (cid of engine) and either 8213 or 8z13 he is not sure. Does this mean anything. Please help
