  1. Yay, I was just about to say the same thing. Cept the washer thing, nice going:)
  2. Well, I don't know whether the garage we decided on taking it too will actually check, but its on the WOF (warrent of fitness) checksheet.. Whats got us really stumped though is that there doesn't even appear to be mounting bits for the squirters... The only other thing we aren't sure about is a touch of rust on the bottom side of the drivers door, although it isn't structural so heres hoping......
  3. Wow, I like what you've done! I suppose there aren't 6 more then of equal or greater greatness?
  4. We think the only rust on it is on the bottom of the drivers door, and hopefully won't stop us getting it legal again....WooHoo! As you can see, wagon springs aren't perfectly suited to it, they work ok off road though....
  5. Thanks for the quick reply,we found the pumps and tank ok, but aswell as the water in the wrong place we can't actually find the sprayers to the windscreen...Call us stupid but yeah.....
  6. Where are they and why does water spray out the front right wheel instead!?!?! Thank you....
  7. Alright, so after getting the oil level back down to where it should be, new battery terminals and some injector cleaner with fresh gas. Very little to no smoke, very little hesitation as experienced, still looks funny, but rather hard starting occationally and an ECS light which we assume is teh check engine one? A definate inprovement over our prior troubles. But what is causing our slight hard starting and check engine light? Is the pvc(?) system full of oil and crap still and needs more thrashing? I think its getting better with each blat down the street though. Any comments or suggestions welcome. EDIT: Its a 1986 Vortex XT Turbo 4wd
  8. Mehehe, I can relate to that now....
  9. I really wish I could find one of these near me, they are coool.
  10. echelons?Dude you know I'm no scholar! Anyway I'm looking forward to getting into this thing!
  11. I'm hoping its something simple. We'll have to take some pictures of it for all to see eh keltik? (is the board still in some sort of update?) John
  12. Yeah, I would like a parts car.... But its not even on the same island at the moment for me so a tad much for a parts car...
  13. Ah crud. My internet has been down for the last week.. I probably wouldn't have been able to get it anyway but damn! Those mags looked sweet!
  14. Anyone know what the first gen brats were called over here? I get people chatting to me about the almighty brumby power etc etc, When the only identification on my '81 is 4wd, Subaru. The model its registered as is simply '1800'. Sorry about the Hi-Jack
  15. Ah, doh...I knew that:cool:
  16. Pardon? Thanks guys, Ill try and keep things posted on how it all goes and what we end up doing.
  17. Cool thanks for that. Just needa get it open now..... So theres no chance we can swap the ignition, boot and door locks from a wagon...? Thanks for the replies lots.!
  18. Ok, found another thing it need. The current owner has lost the keys..... So looks like were gonna need to replace the locks too. would this be an alright donor car for the shocks, and all the locks? Just bouncing ideas round now. Looks like I'm pitching in to buy it aswell. Theres three of us buying it. I can't wait!
  19. Oh wait, Just sedan and coupe, not wagons?
  20. Awesome, thanks guys. This is just what we were were hoping to hear! And I'm gonna be the only one driving it cause non of them have their full liecences!
  21. Hey, I have a friend who is looking into buying an '85-'87 Vortex (XT). All it needs is four new shocks as the current ones are leaking, something along those lines anyway. My questions though is what other ea82 vehicles can these parts be sourced from, as these are really rare here. I think its either the pushbutton 4wd or the fulltime awd with the difflock. turbo baby! Thanks all.
  22. I really need at set of these....
  23. Yep. I've got the EA81 with the DR. I think it'd probably be worth trying to get then, even if it is just for the front halve. It seems there aren't many of the first gen Subarus round here, not on the road still anyway. Nothing like spare chrome! Thanks!
