  1. Er right, Forgive me. Those beautiful pictures distracted me from the writing.
  2. Urban Assault Vehicle?:-p
  3. I like it! You using a 5 speed dualrange?
  4. Dunno, the guy says its gonna be certified and legal for the next owner.I'm pretty sure it would have been difficult to get legal for him, NZ LTSA red tape etc....
  5. My bad, I could have sworn I saw twin turbo written somewhere.
  6. 2 Litre twin turbo Brat 6 inch lift.... The mind boggles.... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/auction-53936408.htm And its for sale!
  7. I learnt about this a couple of weeks ago! Finally the school taught me something with some relevance! From what I know it sounds like a good idea. Though wouldn't you have lots of aluminium corroded junk floating round in there? Good thinking though.
  8. With black spots?
  9. It looks like fun! Hope it all goes well!
  10. Speaking of rare wheels, I saw a wagon with 15' superlites on it. I tryed to ask the guy about them but he wouldn't stop:banghead:. Would love too see some pics of the Brat and wheels though!
  11. Nice collection, I spent part of easter sunday washing cars..... Heres our family. And farm hack, currently not running... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=10492&cat=500&ppuser=14763
  12. What happened to this guy? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47463
  13. Well, WOF, REGO and 3RD party insurance....I'm quite proud of how well this all went.... Just need new fan belt/s cause its screeeching like an angry banshee sometimes.... And a decent cooling system flush....What do you guys suggest for a flush? Garden hose? I have acess to a little more if it really needs it:brow: (firetruck, mehehe....)
  14. Pillarless doors in such old vehicles would be one of mine:headbang: Ease to work on. Boxer! 4x4 system! I just like it!
  15. Heh yea, Well I'm going in this afternoon after school, so we'll see what the outcome is.....
  16. MM yea, its only 3rd party, and I told them the car was no threat to anyone and I only paid $300 for it. They said the excess would have been $300, but since I'm under 25 its like $800. And yea, my parents have many cars and all their farm related things insured with them. So we'll see how it goes.....:-\
  17. Mm, yea i suppose you've got a point..... I just checked and its $104 per 6 months rego, and 120 somthing for third party only for 12 months. I'm thinking that they'll jack the price up when I go to talk to them tomorrow though...... OH well, its another subaru so i'm kinda happy. And another good reason to get a job.
  18. PIctures please~! It sounds interesting..
  19. Well the Vortex passed its WOF (warrent of fitness) finally. Only thing noted was that it didn't have a sticker on the space saver tyre saying they were dangerous, but the nice man put a sticker on it for me.... Apart from that though, pretty much flying colours! Now lets work on a rego and some insurance for a $300NZ car. I was quoted $12 monthly for 3rd party only, sounds ok to me, THe rego is the biggest ouch, at like $80 per 6 months I think. This business is expensive.....I need to get a job again.....
  20. I don't think the XT has them, one is smashed off anyway.....:-\ I'm kinda afraid to force them. yay for subaru!
  21. I is here! "KELTIK" Is also! We live up north some more though......
  22. They sound like all good and I will have to try at least a few of them. THanks! And about the Hitachi disty, Would an 84 brat have any different disty-ignition system in it, eg, is it any better? And can it be swapped easily? Thanks all!
  23. Yep, I shoulda guessed, the first decent amount of water I try the brat out in. I balls it up, and sputter and die meters out of the river.... Yes, a little too quick maybe? Ran, but badly. Turns out after pondering and figuring it wasn't gonna dry its self out, a quick dabbing with a rag and we were good to go again. Now, to avoid this happening again, I was thinking using some of that die-electric grease stuff to seal around the cap, and the leads etc. Had also thought of using lanolin grease as I've got some of that lieing round. Are these ok ideas? Anyone else care to share some more light on this one for me? Sorry if this topic has been done, feel free to tell me so.
  24. This is kinda funny actually. The EXACT same thing happened to me with my 81 brat not long after I got it. Couldn't find the exact right one either. Ended up getting one from a gen 2 brat, round 87'ish I think, so any ea81 car (maybe?), the fitting on the pedal end was a little different, just needed drilling. Is still working perfect! Good luck on finding bits! Get that baby back on the road!
