  4. The seatbelts stopped working? Are the seatbelts in your Loyale like those automatic xt6 ones or something?
  5. Arg. All the roads between me and snow are closed due to black ice and other nastys......:-\ I want snow! Edit: Nice Pics! You Brumby is nice and that snow looks goooood
  6. This idea suits me down to the ground. :) Love to hear from anyone with sucess in this already?
  7. Sorry to bring this back from the dead but, this idea has really got me thinking. Imagine how much easier would the EJ swap be if you could just bolt a carb and disty etc onto your EJ22. Because the way I saw it, the most difficult bit of the swap was the wiring...... At the moment I'm just bouncing ideas round in my head. So the rest might not make much sence... Carbed EJ22T? In a Vortex?? Or any other L Series Subaru etc...... What is the story with turbos and carbs? Even just a Carbed ej22. Sure it would be a bit more gutless than the FI one, and I'm thinking the ej18 carb would be slightly restrictive, but if you could get a higher flowing carb, exhaust etc, You could have a helluva simple, fairly high hp, old gen vehicle right? Or am I just completely wrong? I hope not because I like this idea.... Any suggestions or details I am missing would be coool. Thanks all!
  8. Windscreen washer hose? Just a stab in the dark.....
  9. Subaru ghost? I can't find anything on the web about xivils.
  10. Ok, thats interesting. Will help a bit with the search for parts. Thanks:). I like Subaru legos:)
  11. Ok, I've got a friend with an 89 Legacy. Its got an Carbed EJ18, and the ever fun Dual range AWD. But anyway, he had been telling me it had been running rough and nearly dieing at cold. I sort of thought it might have been something to do with the auto choke or coolant temp sensor (do these even have one of those?) He reakons its been getting worse lately, running rough all the time and backfiring down hills etc. A mechanic took a quick look at it for him and he now says that his carb is just fawked pretty much.... Anyway, a search has pretty much told me that carbed ej18s aren't common I think? Any info on these things would be cool. At the moment hes thinking of just replacing it with a carb from the wreckers. Thanks in Advance!
  12. Whats the deal with the 5th injector?
  13. Ewww, Its all funny looking.... Interesting, but funny looking..:-\
  14. No No, Hes at the South most point of the North island......
  15. I find this debate interesting. I myself would have rather seen a new more 'Bratty' Brat, And don't know exactly what to think of the Baja. This thread makes me wonder what is in the future for the Holden crewman though. It is awefully Baja like and it seems to be selling really well over here. Actually, now that I think of it, I don't think they sell Bajas over here.... http://www.nextcar.com.au/i.holden.crewman.03oct.jpg [/url]http://www.drive.subaru.com/Fall02/Fall02_News/Baja.jpg ?
  16. Or me!!:-p What, it was worth a try though right?
  17. Six Thousand dollars? Thats a lot of $$ I got my Brat over here in pretty fine condition for around $2600NZD Dunno what the market is like there. I guess it could be worth that much
  18. Dang, Thats neet. Putting that on the 'to-do' list. You make it look so easy. Just gotta find some spare sets of hubs incase I ruin the originals.....:-\
  19. Ha I'll take it!:-p Anything is worth a go once.
  20. If you're looking to replace the air sus. with coils. I found the standard rear shocks and springs from a 4wd wagon work ok in my Turbo XT. The back sits up a tad high but its OK.
  21. Well I'm pretty sure I don't have an actual JDM motor. But thought that if they were different, the New Zealand ones might also be different. But I would be happy to post numbers if they are of use.
  22. Ill get in on this too. Got 3. '81 Brat. Runs flawlessly '83 Brat. Runs but is rotting and extremely rough. Farm hack, not legal. '86 Turbo Vortex. Actually runs not too bad. The alternator is in getting fixed up at the moment but it still runs! Its also very rough around the edges. So thats 3/3!
