  1. I live about an an hour north of Toronto. I can send you my address if you want to deliver them in person lol. Ever do any ice fishing in your part of the world?? Seriously though, I can buy a set from the local tire shop, but a buddy has a set of GM wheels with snow tires on them already, so it would be a lot more cost effective if they fit the Subaru.
  2. I just want 14" steel wheels to put snow tires on. The local auto wrecker doesnt have any Subaru wheels, thats why I was wondering about compatable wheels from other brands.
  3. Can anyone tell me for certain if there are is any other automotive manufacturer whos wheels will fit my 95 Legacy 2wd? Checked a few aftermarket wheel web sites over the weekend and one of them listed the exact same part number (their own number) for the legacy and several GM cars i.e. Berreta, Cavalier, Sunbird etc. Has anybody out there put GM or any other make of wheels on their Subaru?
  4. I think the ring you are talking about is the race for the diff bearing, moving it could affect the preload on the bearing. I took mine off to replace a leaking axle seal and got lucky, put it back on and no noise so far... that was about a year and a half ago. I didnt know what it was till I got it off. As for the vibration issue, you mention that you just replaced the shafts (rebuilt ones I presume?) I also replaced both shafts on my 1995 2wd Legacy and had bad vibration under accelleration. I replaced them about 2 days apart and after replacing the first one didnt notice a vibration (but I wasnt looking for one) replaced the second one and it was very noticable. I assumed that the second one I put in was bad, so I took it back and exchanged it for a more reputable brand and there was a remarkable improvement, but the vibration was not gone entirely. I will be returning the first one I installed and replacing it with the better brand as well.
  5. I have a 95 Legacy wagon 2.2 engine with around 230,000 kms. I got it used about 2 years ago and I dont know if and when the timing belt was replaced. I intend on replacing the belt as a precaution but I would like to know if the engine is "Non interfearance" I could sleep a little easier knowing that if it broke I wasnt going to do any damage.
  6. I just replaced the drive axles on my 95 Legacy wagon 2wd and ever since then the vehicle has a severe vibration under hard acceleration. The axles I put in were remanufactured and i did notice that the circumference of the original CV housing was larger that that of the replacement ones. Anybody experienced this? Should I take them back out and try a different brand? I should also mention that when I replaced a boot on the axle last year, it took a while to find one that would fit, it seemed as though everyones part number listing was incorrect including Subaru's. (they were all too small) Made me wonder if I had an odd ball car?
