Ok ... who stole my hubs!?
I guess I should have re-read your post. You had it figured out. I guess I should sip a few, maybe I would pay better attention.

You are measuring between to studs or holes next to each other. The 140mm pattern is the bolt circle, so you measure across two opposite studs.

clutch component question
I am contemplating a transaxle swap from a single range to a dual range (4 speed)on my 82 DL EA81 wagon which probably has the 200 mm (7 7/8") 7/8" 21 spline clutch assembly. I want to go to the larger 225 mm (8 7/8) clutch and I have a flywheel that has the .900" distance in the step from where the pressure plate bolts on to the friction surface of the flywheel,(I believe it is an EA82 part) and it appears that the late EA81's that used the larger clutch diameter had an .825" step, so here is my question. Is the bolt circle of the pressure plate the same on the EA81's and EA82's where I could just machine .075" off of the pressure plate mounting surface of the EA82 flywheel and run the larger clutch components of the later EA81's? And are there possible release bearing differances / issues that I may encounter if I were to do so? Or anything else I'm overlooking? Thanks!

Battery choice
I have started getting the group 75 optimas and using them. Just a little smaller dimentions and thirty some dollars less money than the group 24's

part number please
Part # 723610051 Price $226.43 availability unknown This number appears to be pretty standard for all EA-81 vehicles. I have to agree with the others that stated that you have another issue causing your problem. Rounded splines, improper torque, washer placement etc. Good Luck!

dieseling after shutdown
I think I should clarify my earlier post. I don't have much Sube specific experience, but I have been around several carbed vehicles over the years that would diesel and if the idle was slowed down it stopped. I don't know why, possibly the increased speed draws in enough extra fuel that glowing carbon deposits light, or (?) whatever, but it should be simple enough to slow it down a bit and see what happens. Easily reversible if it doesn't change anything.

dieseling after shutdown
Is it possibly idling a little fast?

part number please
What year / model is your vehicle? I have an older interchange manual (it goes to I believe 87) With that information I could relay to you what the interchange says is the same.

DrK, You mentioned "FSM" and "conversion manual" in post 58 regarding your fuel injection swap. Are these available online or ? I'm interested in doing a similar conversion. Thanks

transaxle questions
I just aquired an 82 4WD DL wagon and went looking for information and found this forum. My car doesn't have the dual range transaxle but I would like to get one for it, my question is what distingishing features can I look for to identify a D/R unit? I got that newbie thing going on and found some cars that are about to get crushed and if there is any useable inventory I want to get it while I can but I don't know what to look for. I don't think I would care if it was a four or five speed(mine is a four speed now) I'm also planning to convert the hubs to the 6 on 5.5 inch bolt pattern and running a 205 70 15 tire soon. Any suggestions? Thanks!
