  1. No custom bumper I'm using the same idea as the trailer hitch in the photo and will set under the bumper just like the one in the photo and the ones you see on the street except it will have two ports or sleves 1 on each side of the licence plate with 2 pipes bent in a L shape that will slide in the ports/sleves and you mount your tire carrier on them so it will slide out still remaining in the sleve/ port so you can open the hatch or tail gate don't have any photos cause it still in the making

Don't think about the bumper it plays no part in this idea and will stay right where it is you won't even touch it

think trailer hitch with two ports/sleves it will mount where the tow hooks are

  2. I was just talking to the guys at the Colo meet about this yesterday although I have a Brat. It would still work and apply to your hatch.

I try to explain if you were to look at the trailer hitch in the photo above or most trailer hitches anymore there square and the hitch will slide out

well i'm going to use that idea and put 2 sleves on ether side of the licensce plate and make them about 15" long it will be about 1" 1/2 ID square tubing

then then take some round tubig 1" 1/2 OD tubing so that the round tubing will slide in to the squre tubing

with a pipe bender bend two pieces of the round tubib in a (L) the bottom part of the (L) should be about 23" long you can cut the end off as needed but a good starting point

the (L) round tubing needs to slide in and out of the square tubing easily thats why the 1" 1/2 ID and the 1" 1/2 OD

when once you've done that you need to get the tire mount (for me I got mine off of an Isuzu trooper cuz mine are 6 lugs and thats what will work)

when mount it to the round tubing

so the whole idea is that when you need to open your tail gate or in your case hatch pull the pin and the carrier will slide out and still stay in the square tubing thats why the round tubing needs to be atleast 23" long

If i did a lousey job on explaining this maybe someone that does understand can help clean it up a little :)

  4. And just to jump on the hijacking theme, I really need a drivers door window crank mechanism & an ignition cylinder & a left taillight for a '78 wagon...If anybody has or sees these items, please grab 'em, and I'll buy them from you at the meet.

Sounds like another good subie meet turnout, can't wait.

Theres an orange 78 wagon at www.pullnsave.com I was just out there today

theres also an blue 83 hatchback that has all the aluminum/armor/rockerpanels/ that are along the bottom of the doors (what ever the tech name is) all six pieces are there and in good shape, and a couple of legacy wagons, and a 84 white wagon they are open tommrow (Monday labor day)

  5. I've been there several times only about a mile or two from me but my all time favorite is pull-n-save www.pullnsave.com

Ok Dr Krazy It's all on you now. The meeting place(s), and the time(s), i think every ones said sept 18th will work for everyone. so the rest is up to you.:)

I will add one thing if I can and thats that both meeting places be chosen before hand and posted here.

example: if we meet at red rocks and convoy to the hamberstand let it be known and posted here first (don't deside the second place standing in the red rocks parking lot)

that way if there are a some that can't make the first one they know where to catch up

It's just a thought and an Idea thats all not trying to step on toes

  7. I like the looks of line-x compared to rino line, liine -x has cleaner look as far as i'm concered but everyone will have a differant opioinon

Line -x Here in denver wants $385.00 for the bed

I ask about the rocker panels I want to do thoes and up to the wide molding on the bottom of the door.

And for that the want $285.00 I.m assuming that for both sides and not per side

  8. I can make to any date you all decide on as long as it the week end that is

I will be able to meet and greet you all and all of you who want to see the Brat it will be there.

The only down side is if theres going to be any 4 wheeling I can't join you on that part as I do not have reverse at this time need to rework linkage

You never know how bad you miss reverse untill you don't have it:-\

if were voting on a meeting place I vote Red Rocks :)
