Looks like something i would do to someone. Although i have put worse up.
-
And speaking of ea82 parts, i have 2 wagons i am parting out, let me know if you guys need any body parts.
-
Hey SUBYRALLY, i just crushed three crx's. in hopes to make you feel better, i even was mad at one for blowing a tire on my trailer so i jumped up and down all over the top of the car. bashed out the windows, and the crusher said that glass that fell on the gound is money out of your pockets, i said it was well worth it.
-
Speaking a little off topic here, but still on trim peices, just decided to take the side rails off the 78 brat, you know the chrome bars that are like a rail that sit on the side of the truck. dont need them anymore if you know anyone who needs them for a gen one. all trim is being taken off except for the top of the bed, the side door ding preventers are being taken off and the holes braised up, and smoothed. not all peices were there for that area.

Sounds like your timing might be too far advanced, check that and try running a better grade of gas, as i have two legacy's and both seem to like the higher gas much better.
-
when i pulled my 78 brat apart to do the turbo swap into it, the driver side hub was stripped clean and smooth. luckily the hub from the ea82 wagon worked fine, but i know in my case the axels wouldnt work as they were too long. and have different spline counts on the trans side, but the hubs are the same. rotors are different but those unbolt and put the brat ones on them.
Hope your problem doesnt turn out to be what mine was and end up being the front diff. Good luck and keep us posted as to what you find out.

Even easier, we had a trashed out wagon that Caleb and i pulled the motor and trans out of, and someone had thrown about 900 pounds of concrete into it. that car was slammed into the ground. but learned a valuable lesson, dont push a sube with a dodge truck, really nice 6 inch deep dent about a foot and a half long on the bottom of the bed. i thought for sure the tires would have popped as much as the car was weighed down. there was no travel left in the struts.

Sorry to hear about your loss, maybe someone on the board will buy them and fix her back up and make her scream again.
-
I know that its probably most likely not related, but to some, a rumble and shimmy can mean different things. my 83 brat without the motor running going straight makes a really loud clunking sound when you push the car by hand. if you drive the car it sounds like a deisel rod knock but if you are cruising at a slow enough speed you can feel the front of the car jerk. i have pretty much located my problem being the front diff as i blew the rear one 6 months ago.
but in your case i would think a rumble and shimmy would be tire related since you have had front end work done, and the tires were being worn one way, and now that you have done work to correct things, the tires are going to wear differently allowing you to hear different noises you didnt hear before. try swapping the tires around front to back and so on.

I have one i am not using for the 83 brat and no one seems to want, it, it needs the back glass, and some minor fiberglass work on the inside but in prettty good shape for a topper of its age.

Come on someone has to know before i wast my time pulling the transmission to only find out that it wont fit.
-
Caleb, dont we have two sets, if so make a deal. i have the ones from the blue wagon in garland too
-
I guess that is what is good about having a body shop that i work out of, all those fenders, hoods and doors at my disposal for metal.
-
Not sure what i am going to call it. but am thinking about how to do things so that it will be completely different and have use of all the available space of the wagon.
-
Welcome to the board, and I will be the first to admit I have issues. I like taking perfectly good cars and making them into something wild.
Am sure you will find the answers your looking for.
-
Sorry to hear about that, hope you get her back, probably just a couple of kids joy riding
-
As Caleb is my witness i made the first couple of cuts on the wagon tonight, made them somewhat a little higher than what i want, so i can go back and use a cut off wheel to cut it where i want.
I am going to keep the back doors and seats and drop my panel there, thinking about a window, not sure what i am going to do, i may take the time to build a frame that i can make a rear window that would be able to moved up and down like a powered back glass. so amny ideas just have to wait and see what happens.
But am going to work on getting the top cut off tonight and things arranged that way.
-
it was quite squirly at first, but now that i have the 4wd working it is quite an eye full to see an old car like that do something like a 4wd burn out. and take mustangs and so on. quite fun to drive.
-
as for the seats, was thinking about using 4 of the front seats, 2 in front and 2 in the back, might give me more room, dont know just yet.have to play with it first. and build a console for the middle in the back
-
very good and mine wont have any manure in it at least from any animal, but it might be used for carring those blown up ford and chevy motors i have to swap all the time.
Yeah you can send me some pics on yours that you are doing, i am thinking about ways to make use of the wagon after i cut it off that way. but i am still in the brainstorm ideas, but i was thinking about cutting it off tonight just so that i can get some ideas on how i want to put this together.
after i get done swapping calebs motor tonight i will paint the hood scoop on his car to match the white of his car.
-
Im just hunting for ideas on to do something different. like i said i have plenty of parts and metal and time to think about it.
-
I was thinking on how to have some fun, being that i have three wagons to use for parts here. and had an idea of taking one of them and cutting the top off right behind the rear seats, and making a wall with a slider window, and making a bed out of the back of the wagon.
Has this sort of thing been done before ?
of course i would have to work on the tail gate some to make it workable, but thats what welders and cutting torches are for.
yeah and i know the BAJA is a 4 door brat, but to make one out of an older wagon would be cool. And drop an ej2 into it.
Give me some ideas or some pics if you have some.

Hey Garner, all i can say is get a heavy navy style tarp and lay it over your body after you wet it some, and some nice long gloves with no long sleeves. hates fires inside clothes, much less the shoes. been there done that.
Looks really good, and yeah very easy to be a jack rump roast in one, like almost got to show everyone what you have. i just like the looks you get when you run across people who havent seen it and white smoke the tires going down the block.
Hope you get the bugs worked out, as i still have a couple of minor ones to deal with nothing major. just simple ones. cause even though i am running a stock motor it is still a blast to drive.
-
It was a superstock coil, But it actually seems to run much better now with the other coil.
Sadness.....

Yeah and they only needed very minor work maybe a half hour on each of them. i would like to get some fiberglass stuff for my brat, but i dont know just yet. as i still know where about 4 gen 1 brats are, but cant get ahold of the owners, 2 in segoville and 2 in longveiw. i keep trying to get ahold of the guys but no luck yet.
