do the bulbs in the dash just have colored cover on them? just change the covers or bulb color?

my dash is driving my crazy, and i cant figure it out, i also agree that there is one common problem, and it is fixable, my dash does not smell or look burned up in any way, and the alt checks out perfect.

so if my alt is ok, and there was no voltage spike, how do i replace the regulator/supply in the dash? and what part do you use?

ok boys, i would love the wiring diaghram, the link no longer works i though the digi dash was sweet when i bought the car, but with it not working it is sooo lame. thanks, Phil.

i never smelt a burnt smell or see any smoke. the voltage with the car running is around 14.5V from idle to red line (measured with meter) i dont get it?

we had a 1985 subaru waggon, thaty we couldnt keep coolant in. once it was steaming so bad we had to get out at the lights to see if the light was red. anyhow, after a long fight to keep coolant in it, it all drained out and burnt out, and we continued to drive it, we drove it in town for a total of 4 months with no coolant. we finished it off in a tuff truck event and when we were done it still fired right up. ran like a top,... we couldnt belive it. i will post and new topic along with this link enjoy http://www.remotedesigns.ca/Movie.mpeg

I bought a 84 2wd subaru, mint, no rust, 80 000km, loaded, i have swapped in a 4wd tranny, lifted it and left the original motor in and all wired up (runs and drives great). there were only 4 wires going to the tranny and the spedo cable. 2 wires for the 4wd light and 2 wires for the reverse light. Now the digital gauges (spedo, tach, fuel, temp, etc.) dont work.... they either dont light up at all, or they are all garbled and a buzzer continuosly goes off. Like i said i didnt touch anything on the motor side. The only other thing there was, was the cruise actuator i removed under the hood, but even it didnt affect the dash when i plugged it in and unplugged it. any help would be great! im am at a stand still.
