  1. I did it in a 95 impreza 2.2 using the ball joint method. It took about 2 hours total including cleanup and beers to do both sides. It just seems easier to do it this way. A good rule of thumb though, if the boot is ripped, you might as well replace the whole thing. Chances are that something got in such as dirt and/or grease got out. Plus I only paid 60 dollars for each axle at that price you really can't go wrong. Good Luck -Chris
  2. I have an 04 impreza wagon and that hasn't got any power above 5,000 rpm. I doesn't seem worth it to me but if your a real ********************* about it, I'm sure they would cover it. I mean it's a brand new car. I wouldn't do it with mine though. -Chris
  3. Leon's in Keene NH on Rt 12 south. He's real good, he's pretty much the subaru specialist for the area. -Chris
  4. you should try greasing the contact points where the slider makes contact with the bracket for the pad. It might be sticking there. -Chris
  5. I have an '04 Impreza TS. This morning it was 23 degrees in the granite state and I was excelerating from a stand still. Between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm I got a ticking sound from my motor. It sounded like dry lifters but as soon as it warmed up it was fine. I'm running the recommended 5w-30 but is there a better weight for winter or something? Or is this not even a problem at all? -Chris
  6. Subaru sending units are terrible, I've seen them up to 1/4 tank off. But the light does seen to work well. My 04 impreza has been right on so far though.
  7. check out shermanparts.com, they have them but I think they'll kill you on shipping. Maybe as a last resort though. -Chris
  8. I had a similar problem with my '95 impreza 2.2 and it turned out to be a fuel leak. A small drip on the filler neck. As for the codes, I have no idea. -Chris
  9. I have an '04 impreza ts and my question is, I see all the after market parts are for a wrx ( specifically intakes ) and was woondering if they will fit my car? Also clutch components like pressure plate and flywheel do they fit? any help would be appreciated Thanks -Chris
