  1. The newer N/A EJ25 SOHC are getting about 170 hp to the flywheel I believe.
  2. You might have to look for something a little taller. They have them in 225/70r16.
  3. Yes ma'am. These are very reasonable fears. Infact, by law, I think you are entitled to recieve the vehicle back in the condition it was in before the accident occured. This is probably something you should contact your insurance company about, unless they're the ones paying. I assume the teenager had insurance and that his/her insurance company is paying for the repairs.
  4. If you're going to get one, get the Cobb Tuning intake. Cobbtuning.com. Be careful, Subaru has a funny MAF sensor and aftermarket intakes have been known to turn them to sh it in a hurry. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the OEM MAF sensor is over like $200. -Chris
  5. I found this for you on NASIOC. "The stock BOV is more of a ABV. ie an Air Bypass Valve. When at vacumn, ie not on boost, the valve is open and allows air to go "forwards" by bypassing the turbo/supercharger into the throttle body. When at boost, the BOV closes up, allowing boost to be built, then when you let off the gas, the vacumn takes back over, the valve opens up again and the excess pressure (boost) bleeds back off to before the supercharger/turbocharger, basically equalizing the pressure of the system." So, yes it is a recirculating BOV.
  6. I don't know about that. I think that the stock BOV just isn't noisy enough for you to hear over road noise and/or engine noise. I'm no expert though, I've only gathered this info from more seasoned WRX owners on bulletins such as this one.
  7. No, You shouldn't. Infact this is one thing that most young kids will do first is put an aftermarket BOV on to showcase their turbo. This actually robs HP. -Chris
  8. I just put some 215/45R17 yokohama es100s on mine. but oe is 195/60R15 as Andy stated. I'm sure you could get away with 205s though.
  9. One bad-rump roast ride. Take out the juice and the subwoofers and amps and it becomes even better.
  10. I'm trying to remove my driver side door panel. I have a rattle in it but I can't get it off. I removed the two screws and popped all the plastic clips out but it still seems stuck. I feel it's requiring an excesive amount of force and I don't want to break anything. Anyone ever done this before? Tips or tricks? The car is an '04 TS wagon. Thanks in advance -Chris
  11. I haven't even checked my fuse box yet. I'll do that tonight. Hopefully that's all it is.
  12. My interior power outlet for the lighter went out last weekend. I was wondering if it could just be a fuse? It was running a radar detector and a cell phone charger. The splitter came apart in the receptacle and I think it may have shorted it out and blew the fuse, if there is infact a fuse for it. Every other electrical component seems to be functioning inside the vehicle. My car is an '04 TS wagon. Thanks -Chris
  13. I believe you'll want to look into bushings not a spring. http://subydude.com/osc/product_info.php/cPath/220_95_270/products_id/511?osCsid=168b06a2c0ad35753b38de0086e457da
  14. I have a '04 TS and I'm looking for a stage 3 clutch and pressure plate. Everyone that has them states that they only fit cars up to 2002. What's the difference between my car and an 02 ej25 that would cause these not to fit?
  15. It's gonna hurt alot more if you bash your head off the wheel though. It does look good. And the title also makes my brain bleed.
  16. Do you know if this number is at the tail pipe or the valves? It seems very high. If it is in fact 99% then catalytic converters would be useless, right?
  17. Thanks Jamie. One more question though. Is that 1" after they settle or 1" initial drop? This car is my daily driver so I don't want to lower it a full inch. Is there any other options out there? Just trying to close the wheel gap a bit and get a stiffer ride. I'm going to do sway bars and end links first, but I will need springs eventually.
  18. I'm looking for a set of STI pink springs for my '04 TS wagon. They say they will only fit '02-'03 but what's the difference? Is it just the top hats? If so can't I just swap the top hats? Or just use the STI struts? Thanks in advance -Chris
  19. I always ran them through with the throttle cable. Use some zip ties under the dash, and down the channel under the sill plate.
  20. People are generally looking for the 2.2 liter engine. The 1.8 just isn't in demand.
  21. I'm looking for the same thing for my 04 ts and can't find anything. Everything I found drops it 1.2" in the front and 1" in the back. Not my gig. I want something with a minimal drop if any at all.
  22. They say it lasts longer. I know alot of people that wait but I run a 5w-30 blend in the winter and I change it every 3000 still. It's black enough for me, I won't let it go past 3500 without changing it.
  23. If you disconnect the brain won't it just not start? Doesn't the wire for the clutch switch pass through the brain so it won't start while the alarm is engaged? Not sure about this but I'd think you'd have to reconnect the clutch switch after you disconnect the brain.
