  1. awesome thanks.... i'm going to run through this thing today and see where i'm at.
  2. so taking off the 4wd turbo intake is the first thing i should check? I'll do that tomorrow. Just had it towed and cost me about 190 bucks... booo!!! How easy is it to mount a newer WRX motor in this thing?
  3. Ok since i've had this car i've done alot of replacing of parts and a nice tune up. I decided to take my RX camping because my CRX was having issues. I was planning on driving from Federal Way to Everett which probably wasn't a good idea anyways because i didn't fully diag the car. I was driving down the freeway made it about half-way before my oil pressure decided to drop and my turbo started making pinging noises. smoke started billowing out the back and the car died. All in the matter of 10 seconds as i was pulling over to see what was going on. It's still sitting up in lynnwood i was curious if i fried the motor or if i just need to replace an oil pump? The odds of it being ok? Under the turbo/head on passenger side was a small oil leak i couldn't tell where it was comming from but it was about a 2inch diameter on the ground. It's being towed back right now and i figured this has happened to many of us? What was your situation? Ever since i got this car it's been nothing but a pain..... i still love it though! Sometimes i just want to it! Also any idea how much oil pumps for these run? Haven't been able to find one on the internet
  4. Oh i forgot all about that hose.... given that i haven't seen it since i put the a/c compressor back on.... i think that's the original hose... it's all warped... good idea Silver! lol bear with me as i don't have my father around anymore to help me with projects. I have to learn all by myself.... i'm used to american big blocks and the like.
  5. Yeah i need to figure out what colors i wanna do on mine. Got alot of modifications i want to do first though. I haven't even tested my 4x4 yet!
  6. Used a brand new one... i'm going to recheck all the bolts because it seams very odd it would do that. Why wouldn't it leak while its running?
  7. given that the glass is broken it'll be alot louder than if it wasn't broken. I ran that setup in my old truck my freshman year in HS and now i'm glad i don't have it. The setup i want to do now is maybe a 2 1/2 inch exhaust with good flow and really quiet... and slap on a electronic cutout. Now that's cool!
  8. Hey sarge did you make that push/light bar? if not where can i get one?
  9. Yeah i put a brand new waterpump and seal and put that waterpump sealant on both sides of the gasket to ensure this wouldn't happen. I took it for another ride and when i stopped i let it run for a minute before shutting it off. turned it on right after for about 5 seconds and turned it off and it still leaked. Not nearly as much as it did before but i looked like it's just seeping out of the top of the gasket right below the A/c compressor. When i installed the radiator i just threw on a 13pound cap that fit. Would that have anything to do with it?
  10. OK PROBLEM!!! I changed everything out and after 5 days of messing with this car. It still breaks out of the seal on the waterpump?! Only when the car is off though. Not when it's running... could there be backpressure from running it? should i let it idle for a minute before shutting it off? I'm VERY confused here....
  11. Really? How would i get the rope back out? Can anyone verify that? heh
  12. No reply? Oh i'm so sad... what will i ever do! Anyone heard of warm beach? up by everett or something..... Can you drive on it? Apparently i'm going camping there and have no idea what it's like
  13. Saw the AZ thread had to stop in. I used to party at imperial sand dunes all the time and colorado river. My dad has a 76 hawaiian jet boat with a 460 in it. Pretty fun times... Put some paddles on that car and take it in the dunes! lol
  14. Well if i had the money i would be more than happy to snag an STI or something... But i would take it off-road just like any older subaru. People buy them to show them off.... hey if they take good care of them down the line i'll snag um! I bought my first subaru 2 weeks ago just because of how great of shape it was in. I work at an auto auction and had to play mind games with a dealer to get the car! He asked if i would pay 1000 for it and i said oh yeah definitly. By the time it hit 700 he walked away and i got a 1986 Subaru RX sedan. Silver on grey with all power options. Interior is in perfect shape and i'm looking at these people with new cars thinking... WHAT NOW!!!! Whatcha gunna do! i got one to! lol..... I don't have an STI but i'm very proud to be a subaru owner even though all i've done with this thing is work on it. I've drove it a few times from auburn to tacoma and it handles like a dream. So nomatter what Subaru you buy the owners are Subaru powered! Rock on! heh
