ok i have a weird fuel question. When i do practically 100% highway driving i get 25mpg but even if i do 10% city driving my fuel economy gets cut in half. For example, i was driving to my cottage and i got 150kms on the first quarter of a tank and now when i was driving to school which is about 80% highway driving im only getting 100kms on the first quarter! What is going on!....oh and the bad bad fuel economy continues even if i do 100% highway after that!

ive got you guys beat 1997 2.5 GT 250,000kms and the only problem was the infernal head gasket

if you during the learning period floor it randomly to....whatever get yourself out of a jam or something....will it screw up the learning process and make it take longer?

would it feel like a jerking motion at highway speeds cause sometimes i get that.....but it only does it when i reset the ecu and it does it for about 4 or 5 tanks of gas and then stops...why is that?

i have a 97 legacy gt 2.5 AUTO....and when accelerating on the highway in fourth gear i would begin to cruise and after a second or two the rpms drop a bit but the speed stays the same....the rpms drop about 500rpm....anyone know what this is?

I have a 97 legacy gt 2.5l and the 16 inch alluminum rims...the hoey comb style......i called napa to get a quote on rotors and pads and they only had 14inch and 15 inch rims in their system.....are the 15 inch rotors the ones you use for the 16 inch rims.....i used to have a van that had the same problem....and the 15inch rotos worked on the 16 inch rims......anyone know what the answer to my question is?

in the offroad forum they talk about cranking the suspentioni assume raising or tightening and they say it costs nothing or close to nothing

can you crank the suspension on a 97 legacy gt?

about a week ago i read in one of the forums that the early new generation 97-99 legacys are 50/50 power to the wheels until 4th gear (im talking about AT of course) where once you are cruising it changes the power delivery to 80/20 or something like that......well.....ive been experiencing high speed jumping and i think its the tranny or whatever controls the distribution of power to not know to switch from 50/50 or 80/20 and it goes back and fourth back and fourth causing the engine to jump 200rpm up and down.....it only does this on the highway doing about 60mph or so. cheers

I just got a new O2 sensor and installed it in my car...the old one was cracked and in terrible shape....without disconnecting the battery how long will it take the computer to adjust to the new readings?

ive heard mixed stories.....i have a 97 GT and the fwd fuse is on the passengers side at the top of the shock tower....is the all wheel drive engaged when the fuse is in or out?

hey the deposits were mediocre but it was the melted middle point that got me....i looked at new plugs and the bottom terminal there is a point that goes up from it but the plugs i pulled out didnt have them....plus they had a .046-.048 gap when its supposed to be .044"....so i replaced them

sometimes the gap doesnt effect mpg at all?

by how much? 1-2?

hey i just checked my spark plugs.....the insulation on the inside of the plugs around the lower terminal was brown and chalky.......the car was overheating due to a head gasket failure so they may be the same plugs from then ......would this effect my mpg?.....the terminals seemed fine

i dont have the tool kit......if it came with the car....im the second owner....i havent seen a tool kit

can you take out the spark plugs out with the engine still in the car.....its a 97 legacy 2.5.......is there a special tool?

when you replace the head gasket ask for the latest version of the gasket

i dont understand how 15 hp will do nothing...and you need a turbo to actually see a difference....thats pretty damn sad....the car isnt a tank....and there isnt THAT much drive train loss

so even if i were to get a 15 hp difference from an exhaust package it wouldnt do anything?

yeah its AWD but 165hp is to the wheels so if there was drivtrain loss te HP would be lower
