  1. I had similar vibration...could not figure it out. Even brought it to the dealer to check...nothing. I drove it with the vibration for 18 months. It finally went away when I had new tires put on....imagine that....
  2. Thanks for all the replies.....looks like I'll hold off until I get closer to 230K but I'll probably need a water pump before then....still on the original. If that goes, might as well do the whole shooting match while I'm in there.
  3. Just wanted to make sure what the service interval is for the timing belt. Changed it at 130k. Now have 185k. I was thinking change every 60k but cars101.com says 105k. Thanks for any help.
  4. WAWALKER....I could not find any info on this filter using the P/N you gave (2266AA010). Could you please double check that number? Thanks......
  5. interesting....my OBW is doing the same thing.............mechanic said a bad tire but I am having a hard time buying that one.....
  6. Nipper, Are you getting any out of the ordinary tire wear on that side that needs the CV? I just had my 98 OBW in the shop for them to find the cause of some vibration that recently developed. They said everything was fine....said the tires need to go....
  7. That "SAE" standard seems like a stretch...my 98 OBW has 170K on it and burns zero oil, FWIW.........
  8. Been thinking about a new Subaru lately and was wondering how the WRX would be in snow......that low profile just doesn't seem like it would bust through the snowbanks as good as my OBW.......Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated....
  9. I have 169K on my 98 OBW clutch and I have this stupid story about my clutch. In Aug 05, I did an oil change and put in Mobile One and that winter, my clutch made all kinds of noise..slipping, chatter, I could hear the throw-out bearing working and everything. I thought it would blow out at any time. I went all winter like that. Next oil change, put the high mileage Castrol back in and have not heard a peep out of my clutch since. I know its not related, but man this is weird......
