  1. what is sipeing? on my forester i have yoko avid t4's and on my 91 loyale i lucked out and when i bought it and got a new set of goodyear concords. for $50 cant beat that with a stick
  2. i picked up my white loyale for the grand total of fifty bucks with an engine that didn't run and the only aspirations of it were to teach me about the subaru engines ( so i would know something before i screwed up my forester) i finally got it to run right tonight in other words have fun... fixing mine has been more about the journey.
  3. thanks for all of the ideas... i figured it out. it ended up being my drivers side bank of my ea 82 that appeared in time at every other angle was a tooth off oh well that will learn me not to triple check everything after i lost $12 in tools trying to get the ac compressor out
  4. when you test it does the problem look like a little hesitation or will it outright not rev after a tad of "normal" hesitation the engine picks up and will rev in neutral and what seems to feel like first also
  5. i just like silicone.... sealant Ive had problems with vacuum leaks on my first car. the factory vacuum plugs kept falling out stupid ford
  6. you're kidding..... crap really? there isnt a way to swear less
  7. how do you get that sucker out (the tps) it is tucked in there pritty good
  8. yes i do know its the purge control solenoid valve. i broke mine yesterday and after trying to figure out what it was i just went to a parts yard Haynes manuals are helpfull
  9. checked it... its at about 20.... it skips around a little is that normal?
  10. oh and it will only do it under load
  11. i didn't pull the sprockets and i don't know about how to pull the codes its throttle body injected and i dont think the cat is plugged but i can check... mabe
  12. im wondering what would cause this my loyale is being weird whenever i floor it in any gear other than first i lose power after 3500 rpm unless i bring the throttle back to 60-75%. if i bring the throttle back it will gain resonable amount of power... almoust like full throttle but still less. first is probably too short to tell if its doing it though. i just replaced the timing belts, plugs, rotor, air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter, oil and filter, i seafoamed it, and its in timing spec also what would cause my odomiter to go up 4 mi every time i go around the block friggin $50 car
  13. ive got 10w30 and the noise will come in and out. i bought my car with a very audible tak noise broken timing belts and a bad fuel pump and ran seafoam through it. its better than it was but now it seams that every time i go around the block the odometer gains like 4 miles
  14. i think its a vacuum leak. that being said, my haynes manual says that there are four "probable causes" under " engine surges while holding the accelerator steady" 1) intake air leak 2)fuel pump or pressure regulator 3)carburetor or fuel injection problem 4)emissions control system so it could be that your O2 sensor is bad and or your injectors are clogged also
