The Dude Abides

Ok i just went out to check everything out and i cant find anything. There is coolant leaking im pretty sure of it because my overflow bottle was empty and the radiator was 1/4 low but beyond that i dont know where its leaking. I let it warm up for 10 minutes, didnt see anything coming out of the block, I squeezed the hoses and nothing leaked. When it was warm i didnt see anything coming out of the radiator, i was pretty sure i was looking at the waterpump and i didnt see anything leaking there either. Any suggestions. Ben

Parts check. Im pretty sure on what i need to check out but just curious if anyone has a radiator for a ea82 or a water pump if mine are bad. I know to check around these 2 things but is there anything else i need to check. Ben

There has been some talk about haveing dificulty putting in bigger speakers in the doors of ea82s but i made a discovery. I picked up a set of 4 aftermarket subaru speakers for a subaru wrx for 20 bucks. size 6 and half. After having some dificulty putting them in gate i thought id atleast pull the door pannel off of the front to get ready to rewire. When low and behold i look and see that the factory wire that came with the 2003 subaru matched the one on my 88 subaru. I didnt need to rewire afterall i just hooked up the new wire to the old slip on the door. Then i dismounted the old 61/2 speaker from the mount and mounted the new one on. With a little trimming on the plastic in the door it fit perfectly. Stock mount and no one knows its there. I can always take it apart and take pictures of you folks would like to see. Now granted these arent super power speakers but there a excelent upgrade if youve got junk stock ones and believe me mine were junk. Ben

its cuz its an auto. They suck do a 5 speed swap if your at all mechanically inclined. Best advice your gonna get. Ben

the windshield is cracked on my wagon all across from left to right but its below the wipers so the cops dont bother me about it. Ben

one last thing im gonna say about the wheels. I was wrong, when you cleaned them up they look 1000 times better. Id stick with those but then again you already were. Ben

my mistake i have seen a couple ea81 brats around.

i think ill wait until whoever bought mountain griz sells it again. Thats the only ea81 ive even seen in this state. But you never know what will pop up. Ben

Just curious with the ease of lifting and what parts are available. Or just sheer size and fortitude. Which is better offroad. Ea81 or ea82 wagons, hatches, brats, sedans. either one. Ben

It depends on what you want i guess. My muffler rotted off and i havent replaced it yet. It doesnt sound bad but id rather have it sound quiet at this point in my life. it isnt a sports car. Ben

Its been discussed blah blah blah. I was just curious when a good time to replace them is. My passanger side has started squeeling. It was alittle bit yesterday but today its really going. Am i able to regrease it and make it last longer or do i need to go ahead and replace it. I will look up the procedure in the search area when it comes time. Ben
