I'm the son with the spedomiter problem. After leaning the screws it worked for a little wile and now it is back to being intermitant again. I guess i get to take the guage cluster out again and try and figure out what is wrong with it.

My passenger side windwo on my '99 Outback does the same thing. I will have to take a look at it. Although that probably won't be untill sunday. If i figure out what it is ill post up some pictures.

How stupid can some people be? It makes you wonder how they actually keep driving their cars. Do they buy a new one every time it runs out of oil? The new one we put in has 15,000 miles now and purrs like a kitten. You guys rock.

Ive got a '99 and the rear view and driver's side mirror rattle with the bass. it makes it more fun.

I can't give any advice on how to fix it but i can tell you that the 4EAT in my '99 Outback whines, but it is very quiet and can only be heard with the radio off. That is the way it has always been. Last winter when i was driving the car it hiccuped just like you described, it seemed to for no reason on a flat stretch of road with no gas peddle input decided to shift from third to second back to third. It has only ever done it once so i dont see it as that big of a deal with my car. The car has 130k miles on it now.

I hope you relize that there isnt going to be any snow in your area this winter jut because you bought thoese tires. It will be just like when my dad bought his snow blower, i think it snowed 2 inches once that winter.

Maby you can move the A/C pump and that is how you tension it?

I wish we did, but it has a CCR rebuilt 2.5 in it so i wont have any head gasket problems or anything to worry about.

Yeah, my dad actually kept a book of everything he did to it and when he put in the new engine i helped with that.

My dad showed me this place, it use to be his Subaru but he bought a new 07 2.5i and sold me this one.

I finally got my first car and it is a Subaru and i couldn't be happier. It's a 99 Outback with 130,000mi on it and it had a rebuilt engine put in about 15,000mi ago. I have been a member of the forum for a few weeks now but haven't done much posting, but it is nice to know that if something ever goes wrong with my Suby you guys will be here to help. You guys rock. And here it is.

Me and my father went to the local Subaru dealer the other day and we pulled in an entrance that pointed us directly at the new '08 imprezas. After we had puled around to the front i asked my dad if he had seen the new ones when we pulled in and he didn't even knowtes them. That is how generic looking they are know. I can't even say they look bad, i just have to agree with everyone that they done look like a subaru anymore.

The two smoothest running engines i have ever seen were an h-4 that was in a '97 impreza brighton that i test drove (had bad torque bind so i didn't get it) and the inline 5's that volvo makes.

Car Fax says its clean, last reported mileage was in '05 at 128,756mi.
