  1. yeah lol, its normally quite an event if me or my dad sees one, we have two, the good one, in the display pic n one exact same but a year older for parts

  2. yeah lol, not many mv's left around here, all rotted away

  3. Driffield in East Yorkshire, just up from Hull, you?

  4. That looks nice, I reckon you could get more than £1000 for that, also if you are in an area where there arn't too many around, you might get a little more, because they are very desirable, especially if your in a rura area. Neil
  5. Hi, Looking at what MV's tend to go for over here, yours sounds like you could get £1000 easily, maybe more, would be able to tell better from some pics though. Neil.
  6. thanks for the reply, the rally tyres i have found are for forest areas and someone put them on a Brat a couple of years ago and said they were good on wet grass etc. And they are pretty cheap so i might end up going for them Neil
  7. thanks for the info. I'm not sure what the price of a lift kit would be and as i'm on a limited budget i might not be able to afford one. So I will probably end up doing a lot of cutting and hammering to make them fit. Neil
  8. I have found some tyres 195/80/M/15 which would go onto 15 inch rims from a scrapyard, would I need to do that much cutting?? (just so i know) thanks, Neil
  9. thanks for the advice, i am trying to prepare for when i eventually get one so i know wat i'm doing, so i'm not going to buy anything untill i get the pickup itself.
  10. thanks for the reply, my Dad has had 2 EA82's 2 brats and 2 EA81's, and when my neighbour whose a mechanic has repaired them hes always said it was easy enough to work on. But if i got an EA82 i could strip the interior out to try to make it a bit lighter which would help a little. But as i mentioned the main problem is finding one. If there was an EA82 i would go for it. Anyone got any info on the justy?? thanks Neil
  11. Hi, I am trying to find a subaru brat here in the U.K and its proving difficult to find one in this area, so i was wondering what is the L-series(Loyale??) like to drive off-road and to learn how work on cars, and also what is a justy like to drive off-road and learn how to work on cars, it would just give me a better chance of finding a car if I like the sound of either or both os these two. Thanks Neil
  12. "It entirely depends on the outside diameter of the tire you choose." thank you. Would putting 14/15/16inch rims on give me much more ground clearance or am I better off Adjusting the Suspension then putting the rims on, or i think i might be able to source a lift kit from the UK
  13. "maybe Nissan, maybe Toyota", there are plenty of Toyotas around here so there would be no Problem doing that, I am assuming that I would also have to do some cutting in the wheel-arch aswell.
  14. 'Do your car a favore and don't mix tyres!!!!' don't worry, i was going to get the make and buy 3 new ones. 14" peugeot rims arn't too common around here, there's only one 205 van which has them on and its my cousins and he doesn't want to sell. So I will probably be keeping the standard whells on. I managed to find some rally tyres which are good on wet grass and mud so i will most probably go for them. And there also quite cheap
  15. thank you for the advice. I have been talking to some farmers around here and they have said that a thin tyre is better because it cuts throught mud, snow etc and they also said winter tyres would be the best option. But i have got a 185 tyre so i might see if i can get another 3.
  16. Hi, when i finally get my own Brat I intend to offroad it on a farm nearby. I was wondering if anyone could suggest A good off road tyres for the type of terrain I will be going on, it will be deepish mud, wet grass, stubble feilds that sort of thing. The size is 155 r13 C-6pr according to the brochure. Any recommendations would be appreciated. (It will off road all of the time).
  17. thank you for the information, the front is the main part which would need to be done. Does anybody know about the rear, how much it can adjusted by and where the bolts are?
  18. hi I was just wondering how much you can adjust the suspension on a Brat, what are side affects of adjusting the suspension and is it worth it? When i finally find a Brat it would be off road all the time.
  19. Very nice white Brat you have there, theres not many like that over here. And in the pic your parts car "looks" like most british ones do. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=16994&cat=500
  20. Its only because of our neighbour who used to own his own garage business that we have kept it going. None of us are mechanics but I hope to change that. Thanks for the telling me about the thread aswell.
  21. I also had chance of one about 35 miles from where I live, same year as my dads but red for £550, but it needed quite a lot of welding and bodywork doing to itso I turned it down. It had only done 53000 miles aswell!
  22. "Mv" stands for "multipurpose vehicle" according to some old brochures I have. My dads cost £1100 5 years ago and needed some work doing to the front wing, but it has had some work done in the rear arches on the inside aswell.
  23. thanks for the welcome and for the look on my test which is in 2 years time. They used to be very popular among farmers but now they have all rotted away and my Dads is one of about 3 in this county, they arn't even in scrapyards!!!!
  24. In country it was 1994 when they stopped importing them. According to a Subaru dealer they stopped making them because all of the equipment what was used to make them was warn out so Subaru decided to stop the production of the Mv/Brat.
  25. Hi, my name is Neil, I wasn't sure weather to post this up in this section or the meet-greet section, so i've posted it up in both. I havn't personally got a Subaru but i'm on the look out for an Mv(Brat). I am only 15 so i am not allowed to drive on the puplic roads over here yet. I am a big Subaru fan and thought you would like to see my Dads 1993 Brat. Its pretty much standard apart from the cd player. Pics: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=22819 (there is also a pic of my Mums Legacy in there)
